Post-op check up and other things

Today, I’m 2 weeks post-op! I feel great. I gotta tell you, it was really rough the first few days. I didn’t feel back to 100% until about day 10, I think. We were able to BD with no pain on day 8 though! Followed by more days of BD, since I actually ovulated 🙂 Oh, and I wanted to mention that I ovulated from my RIGHT side! I could feel it! That’s the ovary that was covered in film and scar tissue. I’m 4 dpo today!

I had my 13 day post-op follow up yesterday. I was kind of disappointed. I didn’t learn anything I already knew from the findings. I was so prepared to show you some ugly – yet awesome pictures of the inside of my uterus – with the septum! Unfortunately, the hospital still had my disc and all my pictures. 😦 My doctor and the hospital are 2 hours away, so I didn’t have time to go to the hospital and obtain them myself. My doc requested a copy be mailed. My husband has seen the inside of my uterus, but I have not LOL

Here again, is a picture from google images of a Septate Uterus:

Here is the “clump” of fibrous tissue in between the fallopian tubes that *I think* is what mine looked like, based on how it was explained to me (I also saw a drawing). It was hard to find a good picture. You can see how this would affect a fertilized egg traveling down the fallopian tubes. It’s gone now though!!!

And then a normal uterus:

Even though my appointment was less than what I expected, I am still soooo happy! I never imagined we would learn so much from my Lap. I can’t believe I have hope again! There were some terribly dark days there for awhile. My doctor still stands by his feeling that we WILL succeed! Yay! My doc is my hero!

I am prepared to show you some ugly pictures of my incision! haha! 🙂 It’s actually not all that bad though! It’s healing nicely and is not even tender anymore. I have the main one coming out of my belly button, which I’ll show you. The other incision is down on my pubic region, but it’s teeny tiny and not much to look at.

  1. Looks like your belly is healing up great, and I’m taking that as a good sign that everything is healing up just perfectly. So excited for you that you finally have some answers, and so hopeful that this will be your year!

  2. I am so glad that you finally have some helpful, hopeful information to work with. I really hope that your baby is able to find a good place to stick around for 9 months the next time you get pregnant!

  3. Your belly button incision looks great! And its awesome that you felt well enough to BD before 2 weeks so you didn’t miss O. I didn’t feel well enough to for almost 3 weeks after mine!

  4. Your incision looks great! You can barely tell you had surgery! I had mine over a month ago and my belly button STILL looks like something attacked it. I guess I’m not a fast healer lol!

  5. I am glad you are healing well. Here’s to healthy baby on the way! I really hope this is your month. I am curious though, did you have any signs that you might have had endo? My periods have gotten heavier, clottier, and more painful the past year. I am wondering if when we decide to get medical help again if I should ask for a lap.

  6. Thank you for sharing all the details and such informative posts. I swear I gave learned more from you than any doctor!!! So glad to have met you and I hope that we will be swapping mommy tips soon 🙂 xoxoxo
